INTRODUCING LAPAROSCOPIC PROCEDURES and STEM CELL INJECTIONS!
The doctors and staff at Riverside Animal Care Center continually strive to provide the highest quality medicine and surgery as well as offering new techniques & advancements to benefit the patients and clients of our hospital.  We are now offering 2 new services:  minimally invasive surgery and diagnostics using a laparoscope and stem cell injections.

Laparoscopy consists of a 5 mm telescope (camera) that is attached to a videoprocessor and LCD screen.  This allows a clear and magnified image of internal organs while only using a very small incision, approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch.  Laparcoscopy allows visualization of internal organs for diagnostic purposes.  We are also able to perform ovariectomies and ovariohysterectomies (spay) with the laparoscope.  The advantage of minimally invasive surgery is decreased healing time post operatively, as well as less pain and discomfort when compared to conventional surgery.

The second exciting service we are offering is a great breakthrough in regenerative medicine.  We are able to administer stem cell injections into arthritic degenerative joints which enables the joint to heal and rebuild normal tissue.  The stem cells are adult stem cells that are found in fat.  A small sample of fat is collected from the patient and sent by overnight shipping to San Diego, California.  The stem cells are isolated, then shipped back to us and within 48 hours we are able to inject these cells into the patient's arthritic joint.  This procedure has shown to provide a positive response in majority of patients with effects seen within the first month of injection.

Please ask your doctor or staff member for more information about these new exciting advancements.
